An updated ChloraPrep label has been submitted and approved by the FDA. The updates include:

Warning Statement Update

The warning statement “Do not use with electrocautery” has been added to the label.

Dry Time Update

The following dry times have been determined to be safe and effective beginning immediately:

Dry sites: allow area to air dry for approximately 30 seconds

Moist sites: allow area to air dry for approximately 1 minute

The ChloraPrep 3mL applicator label also includes instructions for use near ignition sources. For those procedures, the 3mL dry times are 3 minutes on hairless skin and up to 1 hour in hair.

The label change does not affect the 10.5 and 26 mL applicators.
