Challenge

Lack of ergonomics
Surgeons have endured using laparoscopic instruments designed with little to no ergonomics. The result has been an increased prevalence of neuromuscular or arthritic symptoms.2

Study

Measuring pressure points
An ergonomic handle study was performed to compare the Snowden-Pencer™ Ergonomic Ring Handle to traditional ring-handle instruments.

Results

Reduced hand fatigue
The study provided a deeper understanding of the impact and magnitude that contact pressure caused by the grip surface of an instrument’s handle can have on a surgeon’s hand.3
