Join us for our webinar: The Importance of Peripheral IV Catheter Selection in the Quality and Safety of Cross-Sectional Imaging
Abstract:
In current medical practices the dependence on accurate, safe, and timely imaging is rapidly increasing. Many patients undergo rigorous imaging to determine treatments and positive outcomes. Most of the imaging is contrast enhanced cross-sectional in nature, including CT, CTA, MR, MRA and PET imaging. In addition to modern equipment, a safe, secure, and useable IV access is required to complete the studies successfully. In this presentation, we will discuss the important role of IV access in obtaining the best quality imaging in the safest ways. Using evidence-based data, we will discuss how to choose a safe and reliable venous access and review multiple imaging protocols while providing ample examples of real clinical situations.
Objectives:
- Understand the importance of peripheral IV access in cross-sectional imaging.
- Describe differences and benefits of fenestrated and non-fenestrated peripheral IV catheters.
- Consider the literature supporting the evidence-based practice.
