Protein and mRNA expression
Single-cell assays provide a level of information that is unaffected by the phenotypic heterogeneity of bulk samples. Identification of molecular expression of either mRNA or proteins in a single-cell provides insights into the cell's phenotype and links to its genotype.
The ability to simultaneously measure the expression profiles of mRNA and cell surface proteins within a single cell enables the characterization of rare cell types, identification of novel biomarkers and finer resolution of cell cycle progression.
