Course Details & Objectives

BD is pleased to present an outstanding and comprehensive training program with one of the most renowned experts in the evolving field of Hemodialysis Access creation and intervention. This program will expose trainees to wide variety of live case demonstrations with concomitant discussion regarding disease pathophysiology, progression, and treatment algorithm. In-depth integrated lectures provide participants the opportunity to expand their knowledge base in a relaxed environment while real-life simulators provide the opportunity to improve stent-graft placement technique and accuracy.

    Dr. John Ross

    John Ross, MD is internationally renown for developing outpatient surgical procedures and techniques which provide access to the bloodstream for patients on dialysis. He is the lead surgeon and Medical Director at the Dialysis Access Institute at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC. Dr. Ross’ program is one of 18 in the U.S that has been certified by the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrologists. He completed his medical training at the University of South Carolina, School of Medicine and has been a board-certified surgeon for 30 years.

    Dr. Ross was a founding member and the first Vice President of the Vascular Access Society of the Americas. He serves on the editorial boards of The Journal of Vascular Access as well as Endovascular Today. Dr. Ross’ professional interests include vascular access for hemodialysis patients and the implementation of a standard, comprehensive access care program encompassing patient, physician and ancillary staff education. Dr. Ross’ writings on hemodialysis access have been published extensively and he has presented at national and regional conferences including the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology, the American College of Surgeons and the VEITHsymposium™. His extensive research focuses on improving the scope of hemodialysis access management.

  • Dr. Michael Lin

    Dr. Lin is a Board-Certified Radiologist fellowship-trained in Breast Imaging. He is a graduate of Case Western School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Lin completed his internship at Tufts University- Caritas Carney Hospital in Dorchester, Massachusetts and a residency in Radiology at Northwestern University- McGaw Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Lin completed his fellowship in Breast Imaging at Northwestern University- Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center in Chicago, Illinois.
